Fuel CO₂ calculator

Enter the mass of fuel consumed to estimate CO₂ emissions.

Fuel consumed

Enter consumption for the same period in metric tonnes (t = 1,000 kg). Leave unused fuels at zero. Do not enter bunker deliveries, remaining stock or litres.

Fuel consumed

Do not choose a category from sulphur content or the VLSFO label alone. Check the fuel specification and supplier documentation.

Results

Enter consumption, then calculate.

For reference; does not replace a verified emissions report or establish regulatory compliance. Confirm fuel classification and the applicable reporting method.

Calculation

CO₂ (t) = Σ [fuel consumed (t) × fuel conversion factor]. Displayed values round to three decimal places; totals use unrounded values.

Estimates combustion CO₂ for three fossil oils. Excludes biofuel blends, alternative fuels, CH₄, N₂O and upstream emissions. This is not CO₂e, lifecycle emissions or an ETS cost calculation.
